I have long been interested in health and healing and was even a professional practitioner for a while. Integrating parts of the human body into the universe is one of my main themes. After my father had heart bypass surgery I increasingly used the heart in my work. The heart and the brain (mind) are often at odds with one another and both are in many of my works. In this piece there are lines or links going from the heart to other organs as well as objects in the universal field, connecting the heart in many ways to the body and the universal or quantum field.
