The symbols of “plus +” and “minus -” have long been a part of my work. Plus and minus are often integrated into my compositions and work as a secondary image. Polarity IS the subject of this painting. Polarities exist in many forms, both in science (here I am thinking about electricity) and in the human experience. Examples of every days polarities would be politics (!!), health, social interactions and emotions, to name a few. I am also intrigued with the pure geometry of the “+” and the “-“, as well as the “=”. The “+”, in particular, is a symbol with many meanings throughout all cultures including our current reality.
