This painting is almost a pop art rendition of the phases of the moon. I have both divided the earth into 28 sections for an approximation of a month, and also divided it into four for the elements: earth, air, fire, water. Not meant to be realistic, this piece is a playful interpretation of basic concepts that have been extremely simplified and taught to us in school. How many of these “stories” have we been taught without reevaluating them?
